Ry is now 16 months old and his personality is definitely shining through! He has become a lover and a comedian. My friend Leslie always reminds me to blog these little stories so that one day I don't forget them. So here goes....
Story #1: Ry's cousin Maddie came over for a playdate yesterday. As soon as Maddie walked in, Ry went right up to her and kissed her - 3 different times (twice on the cheek and once on the eye)!! She stood there wondering what the heck is this kid doing?! Laura and I just wished we had caught it on film.
Story #2: As we were leaving for the Lincoln Park Zoo this morning (Music time with "Mr. Singer"), our departure was delayed because Lulu needed to go out. Ryker was extremely anxious to get outside, but I told him Lulu had to go to the bathroom. He immediately ran to the bathroom and grabbed a roll of toilet paper and arm stretched tried to hand it down to the dog. It took everything in me not to burst out laughing. But only in the life of a toddler, does a dog need toilet paper to go to the bathroom :-)
Other new tricks: He loves talking on the phone; coloring; riding on his bike, wagon, etc. He is also starting to know more body parts: we have mastered feet; belly, ears; and nose. He knows to grab his shoes and bring them to the couch when we are ready to go outside. He LOVES being outside! Unfortunately, he has also mastered the "terrible two" tantrum - like 8 months early!
New Words: While "mom", "daddy" and "dog" are still favorites - we have heard "yummy", "yeah" and "cheese" - so we are getting there!!
Favorite foods: Peanut Butter and ANYTHING (Jelly, honey, bananas); pasta; pears and I cannot tell a lie - this kid loves ice cream! He also ate tilapia this evening and really liked it! He is a much better eater than his mom!
