I can't believe after months and months of planning...the Green lake wedding is officially over. We had the whole family over for dinner last night (Chef Le cooked an amazing meal!) so we could re-hash the great event (and hear the details of the honeymoon from the newlyweds). There are more pics to come - but I had to get down a few of the highlights so that I don't forget them:
-Brooke looked absolutely beautiful - she had a perfect day - it was hot - but the sun was shining! (my dad must have heard my moms constant prayers that the weather needed to be good!)
-The ONLY hang-up of the day was a very nasty limo driver who was late, lacked air conditioning, had a dirty car and was sent packing by my brother - we got the newlyweds to the reception in an air conditioned car! :-)
-The boat between the church and reception was exactly what Kevin and Brooke wanted. All their friends were aboard, drinks were poured, toasts were made and music was playing - it was picture perfect.
-The reception was great - everyone loved the band and I felt like we were in the last episode of 90210 (donna and davids wedding...for those of you that remember it fondly...when everyone was dancing in a circle at the end - i swear it was a re-creation of it :-)
-Ryker and Maddie danced until they could dance no more!! I think they finally passed out at 9:30 - but honestly they looked adorable coming down the aisle, they both sat through dinner and they LOVED the band.
-Ryker had a major explosion of language during the two weeks we were in green lake (which of course makes his mom so happy :-) but two funny ones... his dad bought him a new fishing pole to match maddies - which he LOVED....but one..he calls it his "shit pole" - he is trying to say fishing pole - but to everyone else it sounds like "shit pole" and funny part #2 - by the end of vacation, the shit pole ended up on the bottom of Green lake. He threw it in not once but twice...first time it floated and le got it...second time...not so lucky.
-Ryker and Maddie both made it on the jetski! :-)
-Little Abigail had her second trip to Green Lake. She did have one minor mishap while taking photos with her big sister but she survived! (right before the mishap!)
- Also, Ryker saw a flag at the dock next door to the house we rented...unfortunately he forgets the "L" in flag everytime he pronouces it....oh well...we will get there...
Anyway, Green Lake 2011 was truly an amazing trip and memory.
Thanks for posting the pics, Liz, but sorry it has taken me way too long to see them! Brooke looks amazing and it sounds like the day went perfectly. I had no idea about the boat!! What a FUN idea!
ReplyDeleteThe reference to Donna and David's wedding was classic but unlike Donna's dress, I am sure Brooke's stayed up (do you remember in that final scene when D kept pulling her's up..probably her big boobs...lol).
